Meet Your Host: Lisa Berry

I’m Lisa, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Biointuitive Guide, and Certified Life Coach with roots in health and wellness that go back to the late 1990s.

My work is grounded in one central understanding.

Everything is about relationship. How we relate to food, to our bodies, to our breath, to our environments, and ultimately to ourselves.

In 2010, I created the philosophy Dating Your Diet, a relational approach to nourishment built on a simple but powerful idea: helping people fall in love with the right food for them. Not the perfect diet. Not someone else’s plan. But a way of eating that feels supportive, intuitive, and sustainable within real life.

That philosophy became the foundation for everything that followed.

My professional journey began in the weight loss industry, then expanded into fitness as a personal trainer, holistic nutrition, life coaching, and eventually into a much deeper, more integrated understanding of how bodies, emotions, nervous systems, and environments work together. Over the years, I’ve studied widely across nutrition, metabolism, digestion, hormones, lymphatic health, breath, embodiment, emotional processing, and nervous system regulation. I’ve taken countless trainings across holistic disciplines, not to collect credentials, but to understand the human system from multiple angles and to meet people where they truly are.

As my work evolved, Dating Your Diet expanded into something larger. What began as a philosophy about food naturally grew into a broader framework for living. This is where Lifestyle Love Stories emerged.

Lifestyle Love Stories reflects the understanding that food is only one chapter in a much bigger relationship. How we breathe, how we move, how we rest, how we respond to stress, how we relate to change, and how safe our nervous systems feel all shape our health. Nourishment is not just what we eat. It is how we live.

At the heart of my work is nervous system calm, clarity, and steadiness. Through my platform Light on Living, I’ve always been focused on helping people feel better, not by bypassing difficulty, but by understanding it. I created and hosted the Light on Living radio show, where I interviewed over 400 published authors and thought leaders in health, wellness, and self love, creating space for meaningful conversations about healing, embodiment, and living well in a complex world.

I am also an internationally best selling author, with chapters published in multiple anthologies exploring nourishment, self awareness, healing, and the lived experience of wellbeing.

My work today is especially supportive for people who are highly responsive, intuitive, empathic, or sensitive to their environments. People who feel deeply, think deeply, and often carry more than they realize. I help translate sensitivity into steadiness, grounding awareness into the body so it becomes a source of resilience rather than overwhelm.

I also work extensively with women in midlife, informed by both professional training and lived experience. Menopause and major life transitions deserve context, compassion, and recalibration, not dismissal or oversimplification. As hormones shift and bodies change, the nervous system asks for something different. I help women navigate this chapter with clarity, dignity, and care.

I work primarily remotely, allowing me to support people wherever they are. My client relationships are close, attentive, and human. We stay connected through sessions, voice notes, messaging, and ongoing touchpoints that create continuity, trust, and real integration. In person work is offered intentionally and sparingly, in a deeply personalized, one on one format.

At the center of everything I do is this belief.

Blossom into the energetic being you are meant to be, because the nutrients exist in the foods you choose.

Because every bite, every breath, every choice is part of your lifestyle love story.

If you’re looking for someone who sees you as a whole system, understands nuance and sensitivity, and can walk beside you with steadiness, warmth, and insight, you’re in the right place.

How I work

Now that you know a bit about who I am and what guides my work, this page offers a closer look at how I support people in practice. My approach is grounded, relational, and nervous system informed, weaving together food, breath, and awareness so health can settle in a way that feels sustainable and real

Biointuitive Work

Where nourishment, breath, and the nervous system meet

Biointuitive work is about learning how to relate differently to your body, your food, and your inner signals so health can actually settle in.

This work resonates with people who feel deeply and those who care deeply.

Many who are drawn here are intuitive, empathic, or highly responsive, and some are practitioners who support others through bodywork, energy work, or therapeutic care. Over time, sensing and giving can take a toll if the body isn’t supported.

Biointuitive work focuses on building capacity rather than protection. It helps the nervous system process, integrate, and release what doesn’t belong, so sensitivity remains grounded, clear, and sustainable.

Many people who come to this work have tried doing all the “right things” with food, exercise, or wellness routines, yet still feel inflamed, tired, uncomfortable in their bodies, or disconnected from hunger, fullness, and internal cues. Others notice that stress, sensitivity, or nervous system overload makes it difficult to maintain consistency, sleep well, or feel at ease in their bodies.

My role as a biointuitive guide is to help you understand how your body responds to food, breath, stress, and environment, and how those responses shape your health, weight, energy, and overall wellbeing.

We work through relationship. Relationship with food. Relationship with breath. Relationship with the nervous system.

Rather than approaching health through rigid rules or external plans, we explore how nourishment actually lands in your body. How certain foods support you while others contribute to inflammation or discomfort. How breath patterns influence digestion, sleep, weight regulation, and emotional resilience. How nervous system state affects appetite, cravings, metabolism, and recovery.

This work bridges intuition and physiology. Awareness and action. Sensitivity and structure.

Through conversation, observation, and attuned guidance, patterns become clear. How stress shows up as bloating, fatigue, or weight holding. How under-eating, over-controlling food, or pushing through exhaustion backfires. How shallow breathing or constant alertness keeps the body in a state where healing and change are harder.

From there, we translate insight into grounded, practical support. Food choices that feel nourishing rather than restrictive. Breath practices that calm the system and support digestion and sleep. Rhythms that help the body feel safer so metabolism, inflammation, and energy can shift naturally.

Over time, people often notice they feel more comfortable in their bodies, less reactive around food, clearer in their choices, and more trusting of what their bodies are asking for. Weight regulation, reduced inflammation, better sleep, and steadier energy become natural outcomes of a system that feels supported rather than pushed.

This is not about bypassing the body.

It is about working with it.

Biointuitive work helps you listen more clearly, respond more accurately, and choose in ways that fit your body and your life.

If you’re looking for a grounded, intuitive, and practical approach to health that honors both sensitivity and real results, this work may be a good fit.
